Why Test Your Water?

It seems like nothing of value is free, right?
Learning what’s in your water at no charge does sound too good to be true.
Here’s why we have a free water analysis:

  • It’s far cheaper for us to test your water and give you the proper equipment the first time compared to if we had to go back to correct it.
  • The loss not only in our time and labor but in goodwill would far outweigh the costs involved with a water test in your home.
  • Culligan has been around since 1936 and we’ve been in communities for over years. You cannot serve a community for that long unless you take care of your customers.
  • With the Do-It-Yourself mentality in most areas, if we started charging $79 for a water test, we fear that too many people would get caught going with an ineffective solution that doesn’t fully take care of their needs.

After all, what good is water treatment if it isn’t designed to handle YOUR water?

Common Contaminants In Tap Water

pfas

PFAS

Also known as “forever chemicals,” are man-made compounds that can persist in the environment for thousands of years. Used in products like nonstick cookware, water-resistant fabrics, and food packaging, these chemicals have been linked to potential health risks, including cancer and immune system issues, and are difficult to eliminate from drinking water & the human body. (not included in free water test)
Hard-Water

Hard Water

Hard Water shortens the life of appliances, leaves Hard Water deposits on fixtures and dishware. Hard Water also requires chemical detergents to counter the effects of hardness and can require up to 65% more cleaning products. A simple Hard Water test can determine how much Hardness is in your water.
Bacteria

Bacteria

Municipal water suppliers inject disinfectants (Chlorine) to eliminate bacteriological contamination. Well Water does not. Most Well Water is safe and free of bacteriological contamination but the only way to know is to have it Tested. A special test is required for this and must be done in a laboratory. This requires 2-4 days. (not included in free water test)
Chlorine

Chlorine

Most municipal water has been treated with some form of Chlorine disinfection. Well Water does not have chlorine. Chlorine in tap water tends to dry out skin and make hair brittle. It can be higher in some parts of the city than in others.
Salt-and-Dissolved-Solids

Salts & Dissolved Solids

Salt is another common contaminant. It is usually higher in surface water that comes from lakes. However it isn’t unusual to encounter higher than acceptable levels in some well water. The only way to know is to have the water tested.
Fluoride

Fluoride

Fluoride might be common in New Brunswick’s municipal water. In excess, it can cause problems. If you are concerned, a special test to determine the levels of fluoride is available.

Beat water filter company in town.
Just had a tech run me through the system over the phone. Making sure everything was cooperating on the head unit. (We had several pwer failures) Peter was very helpful, informative and insightful as to the workings of the unit and maintenance. Definately recommend this company and their staff such as Peter himself.
Another successful visit from Culligan of Rothesay. Although it's unusual, Sarah was able to send a tech the same day I called in with my problem. Peter arrived in a timely manner and worked knowledgeably and efficiently at diagnosing the problem. He also left me with detailed instructions on how to deal with any residual effects of replacing part of my system. I'm very grateful for such quick and effective service!
Sarah and Brian were very helpful and professional. And so was Paul during the previous appointment last year
Although not everything went perfect, the installation was a success and the product is very good quality. The tech (Peter) who was very professional, even when things did not go perfectly, never gave up and forged forward to complete the job. Its a rarity to see this kind of commitment in todays world. People who stand behind there products with excellent service. I recommend this company.

Hey Culligan Man AND Woman! It has been a year since our office upgraded to our two tap set up, ditching the bottles! You can make City water taste great and we feel like it is the right choice environmentally. We just had our annual maintenance and we received top notch service - as always! Thank You!
Love having the salt deliver. We also enjoy the machine itself. Great products and great service.
Great service. I would recommend it unreservedly.
Another great service call, this time from David, who was personable, knowledgeable and efficient. He arrived at the predicted time, identified the problem immediately, explained the options clearly, and installed the new part quickly, outlining what I needed to do to get everything back on line. Although my previous appt had to be cancelled due to sickness, I was very grateful to benefit from a cancellation the next day.
Great installation service. Everything works well. Nice people, too.
I was pleased with how Tim walked me through the process. He explained the benefits, outlined the installation process and did a follow-up. The installation was top notch. Very professional tie into pipes. The results are great. No chalky film, clean dishes and fresh clothes. Dishwasher and kettle work far better and no streaks on my black car.
